Objective

To provide Safe Drinking Water / Sewerage Facilities to Public and Pollution Control of Water Bodies

Activities

• To prepare, execute, upgrade and finance schemes for water supply, sewerage and sewage disposal on the directions of the State Government.
• To make arrangements for all necessary services in relation to water supply and sewerage system to the state government and urban local bodies on the request of private organizations or individuals.
• To prepare plans for water supply, sewerage and drainage on the directions of the State Government.
• To review and advise on tariffs, taxes and water supply charges within the areas of water institutions and urban local bodies which have entered into an agreement with the Corporation under section 46.
• Determining the materials required and making arrangements for their receipt and use
• Establishing state standards for water supply and sewerage services.
• To do all such functions in urban areas which are not mentioned here and which were being done by the then Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam before the commencement of this Act.
• Every water institution or local body which has entered into an agreement with the Corporation under section 46. To conduct annual review of techno-economic and other aspects of water supply and sewerage system.
• Establish and maintain facilities for review and evaluation of technical, financial, economic and other relevant aspects of each watershed and sewerage system in the state.
• When directed by the State Government, any water supply and sewerage system shall be supplied on such further conditions and for such period as may be specified by the State Government. operate and maintain.
• To determine the required manpower and training in respect of services related to water supply and sewerage system in the state.
• To conduct practical research for efficient discharge of the functions of the Corporation or any water body.
• To perform any of the functions assigned to the Corporation by or under this Act.
• To perform such other functions as may be assigned to the Corporation by the State Government by notification in the Gazette.
